Home Hardware Dealers from Québec and British Columbia were celebrated this week at the 2018 Outstanding Retailer Awards for Best Hardware Store and the Marc Robichaud Community Leader
Dealers from across the country were honoured in seven categories covering the range of hardware and home improvement retailing formats. During the Outstanding Awards Gala, Home Hardware Dealers were recognized in two award categories, including:
- Best Hardware Store – Michel Robidoux, Dealer-Owner, Quincaillerie Sainte- Julie, Sainte-Julie, Québec.
- Marc Robichaud Community Leader – Douglas and Shelley Gallinger, Dealer- Owners, Fort St John Home Hardware Building Centre, Fort St. John, British Columbia.
The award recipients were chosen by a panel of industry experts who analyzed nominations from retailers across Canada in categories including: Best Hardware Store; Best Building Supply/Home Centre (under 15,000 sq. ft.); Best Building Supply/Home Centre (over 15,000 sq. ft.); Best Contractor-Specialist Dealer; Young Retailer of the Year; Best Large Surface Retailer and the Marc Robichaud Community Leader award. Each nomination was judged on a range of criteria, including sales performance, retailing innovation and community involvement.
“These retailers reflect a diversity of backgrounds, marketplaces and personal challenges, yet they all share a passion for retail and incredible connections with their customers and communities,” said Michael McLarney, President of Hardlines Inc. “These winners are truly outstanding and set new standards for excellence in retail.”
