LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

WELCOME TO 2024

appy New Year everyone! And I hope you all had a wonderful
Hholiday with family and friends. I know I did! Getting to celebrate
my son’s first Christmas was truly amazing. I’ve been enjoying
spending most of my days hanging with my little man as I enter the
second half of my 12-month maternity leave (*see sledding picture);
so, while this may be a shorter update on my end I wanted to make
sure I got to touch base with you all!
I wanted to thank everyone who participated in our AGM back in
November, we had some productive discussions and some valuable
feedback. And if you have any requests, comments, or suggestions for
next year’s events please let us know, as we look at ways we can make
it an even more valuable experience for members. We also have 2 new
board members who have joined us, and I’d like to welcome Charles
Westrik from Elora Building Supplies and Andrew Doidge from Doidge
Building Centres to the Board, we are very excited to have you!
There are many more events on the docket for 2024, and it’s
shaping up to be a great year! The dates and locations have already
been set for our 4 Golf Tournaments, so please watch your inbox for
more info on those. The Cool Car Ride will be back again this summer
as well, which is always a great event. One of the things I’m most
excited about is the addition of the Plumbing and Electrical Training
to our already amazing fleet of courses. Please reach out if you’d
like more information! We’re looking at adding one or two more new
and interesting events as well, Trevor has been hard at work on a few
things, so stay tuned for more on that.
Again, I just want to send everyone my best wishes for a happy,
healthy, and prosperous 2024. The New Year may be a time of Cheers & all the best,
uncertainty, as we always tend to wonder what the year ahead will Rebecca
have in store for us. For me, the New Year always also brings with it a
renewed sense of excitement, creativity, and optimism. So I strive P.S. My thanks again to my Vice Chair Barb Schering for stepping up
to face the year ahead with an open and curious mind and a positive and helping out when I need her as I try to manage my duties while
attitude, ready and excited to see what’s next! also being home with a new baby!
