Thousand Island Parkway,
our last stop for the day was
Thompson TIMBER MART
where we were greeted
by Jamie Thompson, his
family and staff. This iconic
yard celebrated its 153rd
year in business this year;
and is a testimonial to the
entrepreneurial spirit of the
independent building supply
retailer in keeping the support
of their community for so
long. It was great visiting
with the Thompsons and their
employees; and we thank them
for taking us to the local ice
cream shop at the St Lawrence
Lock for a pleasant interlude
with a sweet treat!
Finally, back to the Glen
House Resort on a warm
afternoon where several of us
took advantage of the cool and
refreshing St Lawrence River
prior to enjoying an outdoor
BBQ and refreshments while
sitting by the water. It was a
great end to the day!
On behalf of Alexandria
Moulding (the sponsor) and
the attendees, we have made
a donation to the regional
hospital in Winchester.
We hope to see everyone
back for the trip next year. The
general consensus is to go to
the Collingwood area for a tour
and opportunity to visit with
old friends and meet new ones!
