n past years, we have
Iventured as far north as
Manitoulin Island; enjoyed the
scenic beauty of the Kawartha
Lakes; and travelled through
the busy tourist area of
Niagara peninsula. This year
was no different in respect to
a great journey over scenic
highways, which included the
Thousand Islands Parkway and
surrounding area.
Using the Glen House
Resort on the St Lawrence
River as our base, we started
our journey at Gananoque
HHBC where Ken O’Connor
and his friendly staff treated
us to morning coffee and
donuts while we visited this
great retail building, hardware
and furniture and appliances
store. Well merchandised and
bright, Ken’s experience in this
industry is certainly reflected
in the exceptional product
offering and customer service
this store delivers!
Next, we travelled a
short distance north east
to Lyndhurst HBC and were
welcomed by Jane Van Noy
and her wonderful staff.
They turned our visit into a
Contractor Appreciation Day
with local people bringing
in their unique vehicles for
display. Take note of the neat
Canada 150th display behind
us in the group photo. Like
so many of the retailers we
have visited in the past years,
this store caters to seasonal
cottage and tourist customers;
as well as a loyal contractor
base who appreciate the extra
mile Jane and her team go to
earn their business.
