gentlemen. A very special evening!
We gratefully acknowledged
our Platinum and Gold Sponsors
whose generosity made the
evening festivities possible, as well
as the production of the 100th
commemorative book - a keepsake
that is available to all members. It
details the evolving of not only the
association but the building supply
industry in Canada and how our
sector is a significant contributor to
the economy of the country and is
(and has always been) a conduit of
information and advocacy. A special
thanks also to the Mann Financial
Group/IPC Investment Corporation
for providing the lovely photo
backdrop which added a fun and
festive touch to the cocktail hour.
The Immediate Past Chair Ken
Forbes and new Chair Ron Schell cut
the 100th Anniversary cake to mark
this historic occasion.
One highlight of the dinner was
the presentation of the well-deserved
Industry Achievement Award to Greg
Drouillard, owner of Target Building
supplies in Windsor, Ontario. We
detail Greg’s achievements in this
issue.
After the dinner, the group was
entertained by the Painchaud Family,
a fantastic, high energy group who
provided everything from classical
to modern music in a fashion that
kept the audience involved and
splitting their sides with laughter.
Over the years, we have had many
entertainers and musical acts at our
events, but this family provided one
of the most entertaining and fun
evenings and deserve a 5-star rating.
The Board of Directors and
employees of the association thank
all those who enthusiastically helped
us celebrate the 100th anniversary of
the Lumber and Building Materials
Association of Ontario. To achieve
this milestone demonstrates that, as
a membership driven organization,
we are supported by those kinds of
businesses and individuals who value
relationships - both business and
personal. We will continue to build
on that foundation into 2117!
