memorial bursary
n behalf of the Edey family, the LBMAO is
Oadministering the Beverley Edey Memorial Bursary.
Through the generous donations in memory of Bev, the
family is offering 3 bursaries of $2,000 each to qualifying
students. Applications are open to any individual pursuing
further education in either an academic or trade discipline
based upon the criteria as indicated in the application
document.
To get the word out to your employees, we suggest
that you post this material in an area best suited for this
purpose.
We wish good luck to all those applying and thank
the Edey family and those donating to the fund for their
generous contributions!
Available to the employee or dependent of a current full-time or part-time employee,
manager, or owner of a retailer or supplier member. Applicants must be employed by said
company for one full year.
The type of course or training could include those offered by a vocational institution and
does not necessarily need to be taken at a traditional college or university. There will be no
minimum grade requirement.
The selections will be made by draw, are final and not open to appeals. The association
reserves the right to withhold the bursary in the event that no qualified applications are received
in this academic year.
OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WINNER
• The bursary winner is completely responsible for making arrangements with, and meeting
the requirements for, admission to a private vocational institution, college or university of
his/her choice.
• The bursary winner must provide the LBMAO with confirmation of admission to the
institution concerned as soon as possible following notification of his/her selection for the
bursary in order to receive payment.
Please note: The Beverley Edey Memorial Bursary could be altered, amended or discontinued.
