obituary

of involving members’ employees in the
activities of the LBMAO, he initiated the
        LBMAO Charity Hockey Tournament.
        This very successful event enhanced
and widened the image of the LBMAO
        throughout the industry. Jim’s personal
lifetime passion - as a player and a fan of
the game - ensured its success. Jim spent
many hours at the tournaments with his
buddy and chief referee, Barry Brownlee.
Jim had many friends in the industry.
Ron Marchetti was one of them and they
had many wonderful times together at
LBMAO events and trade shows. Ron had
a conversation with Jim just prior to his
passing. Ron comments, “Jim was one
of the characters of the industry. He was
a great golfing partner and fellow road
warrior. I had the pleasure of talking to Jim
frequently; we talked about the industry
in general, the many experiences that we
shared during our travels over many years,
as well as the many people we crossed
paths with on our travels across Ontario.
Jim was very passionate about the LBMAO.
He was very disappointed when he could
no longer visit the dealers he had so much
regard for. Jim was one of a kind and will be
        missed.”
On behalf of the Board of Directors
and employees of the LBMAO, we extend
our deepest condolences to Jim’s family.
He was truly a gentleman who had an
infectious sense of humour and always
a pleasure to be around. Jim’s last few
years were not the easiest with his health
struggles, but he always had a smile on his
face and usually a ribald comment to go
        with it!
Jim has left quite a legacy in the
Industry. He will be greatly missed by many.
