was going to be a vital source of
supply for the community.
By early 2022, the store
has been taking shape and we
decided to tell the story of how
this business is in its home stretch
towards opening in early February
- with a Grand Opening slated for
the spring.
One task that did not prove
as difficult to accomplish was to
hire competent staff. Leah and
Steve were able to put in place
a dedicated and enthusiastic
team who are supportive of the
effort to get the business up and
running. Their belief in serving
the community with a well-trained
staff, focused on solving customer
problems, will complement the
dynamic presence of this business.
With Leah as Store Manager, Steve
as Sales Manager, plus Jamie
McCurdy as their outside sales and
contractor representative - they
have an experienced and focused
management team.
They have not even opened the
store and yet this management
team has put in place a long-range
plan with the intention of driving
sales and profits to enable them
to pay off the new build, pave the
full yard, expand the contractor
customer base and offer design
services in kitchens and baths.
As Leah wistfully expressed at
the end of this interview, she is
looking forward to spending more
time with her young family and
getting back to a somewhat normal Training the team on the processes of handling customer transactions.
