Iain’s son Jonathan grew up in this
family owned business - working at
the ripe old age of 9 in dad’s workshop
cleaning the floors and graduating to
the assembly line - and now, having
completed his education from UWO, is
actively involved in all aspects of the
corporation including assembly, sales,
logistics and finances towards learning
and contributing to the processes to
achieve Iain’s goals of exceeding their
customers’ expectations. Jon’s interest
is in the integration of E-commerce with
bricks and mortar operations and how
best to adapt new technologies and
customer focus for Kutchin.
With most family businesses there
are disagreements between the owner
and their family members, who often
have a different outlook and want to
change processes to methods that
they feel will improve efficiencies.
Recognizing that dynamic of a family
business, Iain brought in an old friend
(with a background in management and
involvement with companies throughout
North America) to mediate and provide
that level of decision making based upon
collective reasoning and not on emotion.
George McCabe, VP of Sales, works
closely with Iain and Jon as a team;
and they carefully plot the business’s
relationships with customers and the
improvement of their own efficiencies.
Kutchin is recognized by its customers
