The Beverley Edey
memorial bursary
2022
Recipients
t has been our pleasure to participate in managing the
IBeverley Edey Memorial Bursary fund. So far, we have
awarded three $2,000 bursaries to deserving students
within our community. The fund was established by
the Edey family in memory of Bev Edey, a former board
member and active participant in the LBMAO.
This is the second year of the bursary endowment and,
in consultation with the Edey family, we will endeavour
to carry forward with this worthwhile program. Any
member may submit qualifying applications once the
next application period has been established in the early
fall of 2022.
The draw was held on March 10 by Lynn Edey, Bev’s
husband, who is also an LBMAO board member.
We thank all applicants (10 were received) who
applied. Following are the recent recipients:
• Kevin Askes, Fines HHBC, Brockville - Program: Hon
Bach of Science in Nursing, St. Lawrence College
• Ethan Askes, Fines HHBC, Brockville - Program: Power
Engineering Technology, Cambrian College
• Rachel Vanderwal, Goodfellow Inc., Campbellville -
Architectural Technology Program, Mohawk College
Congratulations to the recipients and we look
forward to offering the Bursary program again in the
fall.
